For our family scritpure study this year, instead of reading the Book of Mormon straight through like we usually do, we are taking a subject and reading every scripture that is about this subject. We chose faith. So last night we read our first scripture. 1 Nephi 1:20. ."...I Nephi, will show unto you that the tender mercies of the Lord are over all those whom he hath chosen, because of their faith to make them mighty even unto the power of deliverance." We then talked about the tender mercies the Lord has shown us recently. 1. Bruce got sick Saturday and it looked like it was going to be a bad one, but was recovered by Sunday night. 2. I had spoken with three people during the day, that had something to tell me that taught me things, unbeknowst to them, that I need to be sure to work on in my life. 1. We can not condemn people for their weaknesses, no matter how much it bugs us. If we do, it will turn to our own condemnation. 2. We must not withhold our compliments to others even for their slightest efforts. Always be aware of the efforts of others, even if those efforts are small and seem insignificant to us. We do not make big huge changes over night, they are gradual and ever so slight and we even sometimes slide backwards at times. The Lord accepts our efforts and we need to do the same for others. 3. If we are faithful the Lord will provide a way for our deliverance from whatever our trial is at the moment. Which leads to one of my newest favorite scriptures. DC 35:24 "Keep all the commandments and covenants by which you are bound and I will cause the heavens to shake for your good, and satan shall tremble, and zion shall rejoice upon the hills and flourish." He will deliver us.
